Joe Yang personality type is ESFJ, a very warm and cuddly type of character. Being a Japanese-Canadian, my father was able to intern in Hong Kong when he was in his 20s and when he returned after 3 years he said he felt he had changed. The Chinese were very friendly and kind to him but when he came back to Canada he was just the same old person. As ESFJ, he didn’t develop any of the traits that we thought would be interesting in life. He was just a nice, plain Canadian.
As we grew up in Ontario and met many people in our lives, we found that many people we met had similar personalities. At the time we saw it as a curse, but now we understand that it’s a good thing. We use this to our advantage in our careers and in our friends; we understand how they work and we can use that to our advantage.
We also know that there is a lot of differentiation within the temperament types, and that each person has their own unique set of talents and interests. We don’t think of ourselves as one type of person; we think we’re people with different sets of skills and abilities.
