As a kid, I was always fascinated with the show – and by the time it came around on my local channel, I was a pretty big fan. So it seemed a bit of a no-brainer for me to give it a go. I'd been doing some research on the show beforehand – I had a vague understanding of the concept of the show, but I didn't really know what to expect. In truth, I was a bit nervous – after all, here I was, about to jump into the unknown with no idea what my future might hold.
So I went to the audition, and spent about half an hour with Mickey and his team. The audition process was fairly standard – we sat in a small room and talked about the show, and the various possible scenarios we could expect. It wasn't long before we were told that we'd been picked to appear on the show.
Abraham Knox was an American actor with nearly 80 films to his credit. He was also a screenwriter, film producer and novelist. Blacklisted during the McCarthy era, he moved to Paris and Rome to work. As a dialogue director he coached many non-English speaking actors in performing convincingly in the English language.
