Gordon Silberman personality type is ISTJ, but as a child, I was definitely more of an introvert than an extrovert. I didn’t really want to be around people when I was a kid. I preferred to play by myself. I liked to read and write in my room. I didn’t like to hang out with other kids – I preferred to be alone.
I think this also has to do with my personality type, because ISTJs are more introverted than extroverted. ISTJs are very logical and they like to think things through very carefully. They’re very meticulous, so they like to spend lots of time alone thinking about things. They’re not into the parties and the socializing and the hanging out with their friends, so ISTJs prefer to be alone. And that’s the kind of kids who may not have many friends, and they’re not going to have many friends in school because they don’t like to socialize with other kids.
My parents were very supportive of my interests. They were into science and math, so I was encouraged to pursue math and science in school.
