Now, while the former needs no introduction, the latter is something of a mystery. Netero did not have any notable skills in the martial arts department, and how he came to be the world's greatest strategist is something of a mystery. The very first episode of the series shows Netero in the midst of an argument with his scientist son, who claims that his dad could have been a genius if he had applied himself in school. We see Netero brush it off, and in the next scene, we see him calmly walking towards an enormous hive of monsters that is tearing apart his hometown with ease. He then proceeds to defeat them with ease and begin rebuilding the city.
We see very little of Netero's skills as a fighter for most of the show, however, which makes the next part of his story all the more intriguing. As we learn more about Netero's personality, he becomes increasingly unpredictable; we see him laughing on one page but then on the next fighting ferociously. This makes him a lot harder to predict than most other fighters.
