Seaquant personality type is ISTP, as I predicted.
The Seaquant types, for reasons that I can’t yet explain, are very good at taking an initial impression, and then comparing it to a second impression. They’re not very good at chasing after the one thing that initially caught their eye; often, they’ll end up watching the same three US sitcoms for the next month.
When you get a Seaquant, you’ll probably notice that they’re not very quick to react. Their first impressions are generally not very good, and they tend to be more logical than intuitive. This is why they’re so interested in logical truths: Seaquants are very attracted to ideology, because they provide a framework by which people can understand the world around them.
Some of the most interesting Seaquants are those who claim to be “liberal”, but who actually support conservative policies. It’s a great example of an ISTP’s tendency to rationalize their own worldview. If a Seaquant wants to believe that something is true, then it must be true — even if it contradicts their own deepest beliefs.
