Claudio Monteverdi personality type is INFP, known as the "Poet" type.

It's a type of introvert with a natural tendency toward contemplation and reflection. INFPs have a strong need for harmony and balance in their lives, and they enjoy pursuing these goals through the arts. They tend to be idealistic and altruistic, and they may be drawn to a classical education for this reason. They also have a strong attachment to the here and now, and they prefer that others show them respect and appreciation for their efforts. Like many introverts, they may find it difficult to initiate social interactions with others. In fact, the INFP personality type may be considered shy or socially awkward by those who don't understand introversion.

Although this type of introvert may appear to be reserved and timid, this is not the case at all. INFPs are extremely passionate about what they believe in and they tend to be highly intelligent and creative thinkers. They may seem quiet and reserved at first, but they possess a strong inner drive that can take them far in life.

Claudio Giovanni Antonio Monteverdi was an Italian composer, string player, choirmaster, and priest. A composer of both secular and sacred music, and a pioneer in the development of opera, he is considered a crucial transitional figure between the Renaissance and Baroque periods of music history. Born in Cremona, where he undertook his first musical studies and compositions, Monteverdi developed his career first at the court of Mantua and then until his death in the Republic of Venice where he was maestro di cappella at the basilica of San Marco. His surviving letters give insight into the life of a professional musician in Italy of the period, including problems of income, patronage and politics. Much of Monteverdi's output, including many stage works, has been lost. His surviving music includes nine books of madrigals, large-scale religious works, such as his Vespro della Beata Vergine of 1610, and three complete operas.
