What is the personality type of Edvard Grieg? Which MBTI personality type best fits? Personality type for Edvard Grieg from Classical and what is the personality traits.
Edvard Grieg personality type is INFP, according to my type identification formula. I’ve read the material on the Myers-Briggs website about INFPs, and I agree with their assessment.
This is the second time I’ve encountered the Grieg personality type. A few years ago, I read a blog post that discussed how many of the composers of the classical era were INFPs. I’m not sure if the author was talking about classical music in general, but in my case it definitely was Grieg in particular.
I don’t know how to classify Grieg in terms of the MBTI. This is my first choice for an MBTI type, but I’m not so sure it is correct. I think this is because I have strong feelings about the music of Grieg.
I have written several blog posts about Grieg. The most recent one was about his three “Elegies” for string quartet, Opus 11. The others are here, here, and here.
Edvard Hagerup Grieg (Norwegian pronunciation: 15 June 1843 – 4 September 1907) was a Norwegian composer and pianist. He is widely considered one of the leading Romantic era composers, and his music is part of the standard classical repertoire worldwide. His use and development of Norwegian folk music in his own compositions brought the music of Norway to international consciousness, as well as helping to develop a national identity, much as Jean Sibelius and Bedřich Smetana did in Finland and Bohemia, respectively.
