"So we'd turn it down and we'd be joking around and I used to say, 'Who is this?' and he'd say, 'I don't know, but we're going to find out,'" Boone recalled.
But the Fire Department radio is used in the show. So they had to make it work for the series.
"We were working with them (the Fire Department), and they didn't want to change the radio," said Boone. "So we had an argument with them about it."
The producers decided to have a scene where Boone was talking to a dispatcher while a song played in the background.
"The song was going to be 'What a Wonderful World,' and that's a wonderful song to use," said Boone.
