Unfortunately for Romario he was suffering from a lack of confidence, which he was shown to have when he appeared on the cover of his autobiography in which he's wearing a black eye. It's not that he lacked confidence, but he wasn't confident enough to wear a shirt without a shirt-tail hanging out.
Anyway, Romario has been doing his best to make up for lost confidence by being more outgoing at the World Cup. He was the first Brazilian to greet the press when they arrived in South Africa, and he was also an integral part of the opening ceremony.
The best thing about Romario at the World Cup is how much he is enjoying himself. When he was in the opening ceremony, he seemed like it was more for himself rather than for the country. Now that he's actually playing for the Brazilians, he seems to be enjoying himself.
