“I have researched the personality types of football clubs for a long time now, and I have never seen a team with a type combination like Borussia Dortmund,” explained Prof. Dr. Gertjan van Noord, from the University of Cambridge Department of Psychology.
“Borussia Dortmund is a very special club. They are not only a successful club, but also one with a strong tradition of producing young talent, who go on to become professionals in other sports and business. It’s a unique case study.”
The study found that Borussia Dortmund fans are more likely than other fans to display the following personality characteristics:
– They are generally male, as evidenced by the fact that they are more likely to be married than fans of other teams.
– They tend to be more highly educated than other fans and they tend to be more likely to have a first degree or above degree.
