Jets reporter Rich Cimini told the story of a "moody" Jets player to NJ Advance Media while debating whether to retain the Jets reporter he deemed the "most overrated" in the NFL, Mike Vorkunov.
If a Jets player stays quiet about a topic, there's a good chance it's because he doesn't want to talk about it, according to Cimini.
"The Jets have been very good at keeping their guys from being too loose," Cimini told Vorkunov. "They don't want them to get into trouble or get fined, things like that. It's not that they're leading a double life. They're not out there trying to be seen. They don't want to be seen."
The Jets' media relations department responded with a statement: "We disagree with this characterization and it's unfortunate that an analyst would make this type of outlandish claim."
"As we've stated previously, we believe the Jets are the best organization in the NFL when it comes to working with the media," the team added.
