Nina is first introduced when Korra goes to see her father, Tarrlok, in prison. She is shown to be very nervous and prefers to stay in her room most of the time. She believes that her father is innocent and is worried about him, although she is quickly reassured by Korra that he is fine and that he will be released soon.
When Korra tells Nina about the end of the world, she believes it is a hoax and that her father has made it up to get attention. Later on however, she says that she doesn't wish for the end of the world to come, but instead wants to live in a world where people are equal. The next day, her father is released from prison, feeling that he had been wrongly convicted.
