Adrian Shephard personality type is ISTP, and my mother is an ISFP. I’ve always been interested in their differences and similarities, and I guess I just started questioning them and trying to figure out what makes them tick. I’ve heard they’re similar in some ways, and different in others, and it makes sense why they would be similar. That might be the case for most things, but not usually relationships.
They both have a tendency to be real with themselves and not feel the need to hide their true thoughts and feelings. I don’t think my mother is as “easy-going” as my dad, but she is definitely more direct and honest than my father is. I think that might be because my dad has a realistic approach that he’s learned from his own experiences, and she has a more idealistic view of the world that she has learned from her own experiences. This could be why they’re similar as well as different.
The way I see it, ISTPs like my parents both like to live life as it comes without worrying about how things will turn out.
