She was also very loyal to her family, especially her brother Nefertari Carvajal, who she had a great amount of respect for, and would go to great lengths to help him out. She was a very kind person who cared deeply for people, and once she made a promise she would keep it.
With this, one could see why Luffy chose her to be the navigator of his pirate crew. She was a very kind and warm person, and the only one that could calm him down when he was angry.
Her relationship with her brother is also very interesting. When they were young, she showed a lot of faith in him, and respected him greatly. She was willing to do anything for him, even give up her life, so he could live a normal life.
