One day at school, he was on the bus when a bully had a verbal exchange with his friend. As Bennett recalls it, "he said something like, 'Oh, your friend is gay? I'm going to go over there and play with him.' And then he did."
Bennett says that this incident changed everything for him about bullying victims. He realized that being gay was not incompatible with being a good kid.
