Manticore personality type is INFP, but the card for this type shows an ENFP. The reason is that Manticores are a race of humanoid creatures, but the ENFP personality type has been used as a fantasy type for a lot of different races. I’ve seen it used for elves, dwarves, gnomes, and even dragons. So I think it’s proper to use that type for Manticore personality type.
Now, if you are wondering why I didn’t use the INFJ personality type for Manticores, I did at one point. The reason is that I felt that INFJ personality types are not too common in fantasy settings. It’s not because INFJs are not allowed to be part of fantasy stories or settings. But INFJs are not too common in the fantasy genre because the INFJ personality type is both rare and secretive. Most fantasy stories are about heroic characters. And INFJs are not really heroes. They are more likely to be villains or anti-heroes.
I felt that that would be contrary to the way Manticores are portrayed in the card art. Manticores are noble creatures, at least in the cards I used for this article.
