Spot personality type is ISTP, and we’re the only type that can rationally understand the concept of “what-ifs.” But that doesn’t mean we think that way most of the time. We’re often too busy to think about what might happen. We’re more concerned with the here-and-now, and we often jump to conclusions (and often wrong conclusions) to get us out of the uncomfortable situation we’re in. The thinking part of our brain often takes a back seat to our gut feelings, which is why it can be so hard for us to do what is necessary. We think about the consequences of our actions and why it is that we are where we are. It’s not that we don’t care, it’s just that there are so many things we need to do first before we can act on any of them. It’s like moving a mountain. You can’t do it if there are still steps to take.
