Is it possible that the Myers-Briggs type is incorrect?
This type is the one that I find most accurate. The Myers-Briggs type is based on Jungian theory. I think that Jung was very clever to create this type system, because it gives you an understanding of yourself and your relationships. The biggest problem with MBTI is that it is based on theories. And theories are always changing, so over time the type changes. So the Myers-Briggs type system is actually quite conservative. The whole point of the system is to understand yourself and how you relate to people. Because of this, it’s only really useful if you’re consistently applying it over time. And I find that I’m quite inconsistent with myself. My personality is very different at work than it is at home, and I think that’s true for many ISTPs.
Do you see yourself as an ISTP?
Yeah, but only because the type doesn’t change all that much.
