The ESTP personality type is the most rare of the five types of the Myers-Briggs personality indicator, and it accounts for only 1-2 percent of the population. ESTPs are sometimes called “laid-back” because they don’t like to waste time on things that they cannot see results from quickly. They are practical and can be extremely efficient at their jobs. They do not like to play games and prefer to get things done efficiently and immediately. ESTPs like to be spontaneous and energetic and can be very physical and active. They often exhibit some of the characteristics of the ENFP personality type, but they do not care about making an impression or about being considered cool. People who are extroverted feeling (E) are more oriented toward the senses, whereas people who are introverted feeling (I) are more oriented toward the inner world. The ESTP personality type is said to be, in a sense, the “normal” personality type because it does not express strong introvert or extrovert preferences.
