Disciplined personality type is ESTJ, or the “defender”. This is the type that truly believes in the mission of the organization. They take their mission seriously and want everyone to follow along. They can be strict and commanding, and love to lead the charge and rally others to their cause.
The other thing that I found interesting was that, for me, ENTPs seemed to be the most “laid back” and “go with the flow” type of personality. The ENTJ and INFJ seemed to be more “serious” and “rational” about things (though I’m not talking about the ENTP as such, but rather how it seemed to fit them). They took their job responsibility seriously, but were more concerned with moving forward and making things happen.
I was also intrigued because my own personality type (ESTJ) is less about discipline and more about action and problem solving (or “taking action”, as we say in my tribe). This makes me think that perhaps we should look occasionally at the way we describe our personality types and ask whether we are applying our descriptors to our own personality type or the types of other people we know well.
