DISCUSSION
This study was designed to determine the frequency of ISFP and INFP personality types in a sample of Turkish adolescents and their relationship to the use of e-cigarettes. We found that the ISFP group was more frequently involved with e-cigarettes. This result is in accordance with previous studies in which ISFPs have been found with an increased risk of e-cigarette use (12,18,19). Furthermore, ISFPs have been found to have a lower risk of smoking cigarettes compared to other personality types (20). Our results are in accordance with previous studies, which showed that ISFPs are not more likely to start smoking (20). The goal of this study was not to determine the relationship between personality and the development of nicotine addiction. However, there is no direct relationship between the personality type and nicotine addiction because the nicotine content in e-cigarette is low and tobacco cigarettes contain nicotine. However, ISFPs seem to be more likely to use e-cigarettes (12,19).
