He has a very soft spot for the weak and for kids and animals, and in this game especially he does very much care about his companions. In the very beginning of the game, he is shown to be very emotional and compassionate, as he is willing to go to the main character's house to give him his memento from his mother, despite knowing that the main character is a complete stranger. But since this event, we can see that he has been struggling with his emotions and not being able to express it properly.
