To me, the ISTJ personality type is very similar to an INTJ. They are very intelligent, creative, and good at social interactions. They are very good at handling themselves in social situations, and are very good at reading people. However, they are bad at following directions, and don't like it when other people tell them what to do. However, they are also very loyal to their friends, and can sometimes be very kind to them even if they don't like them.
I never really put much stock in personality types. I believe personality is fluid. Everyone changes over time.
