He was always good at mathematics and science, so he went to study engineering at high school. But he didn’t like it very much. He eventually moved to University College London to study English Literature, where he originally intended to study economics.
“But the people in my department were all really liberal and liberal-minded, and they all wrote plays. I was in drama in high school.”
He found that his writing was more natural for him than acting.
