My husband and I are both ISTPs. We’ve met a number of ISTPs over the years, and we’ve found that they often find it difficult to express their true opinions and feelings because of their dominant introversion.
I’d like to offer one example to illustrate how this can play out. One day, I was meeting with an ISTP client and my client asked me a question about her business. I responded “not really sure. I’m not really in the know about that stuff. I’m more of an outer observer.”
My client was upset with me. She said “I thought we were friends. You’ve been my mentor for the last several months, and I thought you would be interested in what I have to say.”
What could have triggered this response?
My client was really wanting to talk about her business, but I wasn’t really interested because I didn’t have the answers and I wasn’t really in the know about it.
