Cap'n Jazz personality type is INFP, so I don't know how it's possible for me to have developed MBTI type preferences in the course of my life. But I think that if I were in the same situation, I might pick INFJ. My instinct is to want to be helpful to people, especially when they are in distress, and to radiate that kindness. It's not enough to offer help when you could help more. It's best to be aware of your own limits, but to extend yourself in helping others when you are aware of them. My favorite MBTI thoughts are "I tend to stay in people's lives much longer than I need to, and much longer than they expect me to." I think that I could be INFJ, because that sounds like me. When I read, it's hard for me to just stop reading. I get into a book, and it's hard for me to walk away from it even if I don't like it. And I think that this is probably because I am not very good at saying "no" to people. If someone says something to me, and I feel like it's important, or if they seem upset or confused or desperate, I will get involved with them.
