They hate to feel insecure, and will struggle to feel secure. There’s a lot of unending cycles of self-doubt and insecurity, and we start to get overwhelmed by it.
I think the reason we get so wrapped up in the superficial and the material is because we’re trying to find a way to be secure. We’re trying to find something that will make us feel like we can be ourselves, and we’re trying to find something that will give us the sense of belonging that we experience when we’re in social settings.
That kind of urge for security is really interesting, and it creates a lot of stress and anxiety. We can’t get enough of it. But we also can’t get enough of it. It’s this constant stress and anxiety and need and desire for more and more and more and more, and we’re stuck in this cycle of insecurity and overstimulation.
Insecurity is not a bad thing.
