A: It means that you have a passion for all things motorcycle. You have a love for Tokyo Hotel, and you have a love for the Italian motorcycle culture that they came from. The two have been merged, and I really think that the fans’ love of motorcycles is an extension of their love of Tokyo Hotel.
Q: How did you get into the Italian motorcycle scene?
A: I actually had been riding motorcycles for about 20 years prior to coming to Japan. My first motorcycle was a Suzuki GSX-R 750. I rode that for about six years and then, about 12 years ago, I bought a Honda CBR 1000RR and a Ducati. I started going to the Ducati Owners’ Club in Florida, and that’s where I met some of the guys from Tokyo Hotel. I was also riding with the Tokyo Hot Club back then.
Tokio Hotel is a German rock band, founded in 2001 by singer Bill Kaulitz, guitarist Tom Kaulitz, drummer Gustav Schäfer, and bassist Georg Listing. Their sound encompasses multiple genres, including pop rock, alternative rock, and electronic rock. They have had four number one singles and have released three number one albums in their native country. The band has sold more than 10 million records worldwide. After recording an unreleased demo-album under the name "Devilish" and having their contract with Sony BMG Germany terminated, the band released their first German-language album, Schrei, as Tokio Hotel on Universal Music Germany in 2005. Schrei sold more than half-a-million copies worldwide and spawned four top-five singles in both Germany and Austria.
