In 1977, a musical called Can’t Stop The Music was being performed by the Rockula Rockers at the Gold Canyon Theater in Colorado Springs. It featured a group of four guys who played a few instruments, but mainly sang backing vocals and acted the part of a group of lovable, singing bachelors. These four guys were Marty, Marty, Marty and Marty. At the time, their names were Ronald, Richard, Richard and Richard.
The musical was a hit and soon the guys were being called the Village People. The four of them eventually became a quintet with a fifth guy named Victor Willis.
