3. Let’s talk about how you find your characters
How do you figure out character traits that will be consistent for a character throughout the whole story? Is it an idea that you get while writing or do you go out and gather information on people around you?
I’ve always loved stories and since I was a kid I would draw. When I was younger, I loved reading character profiles in books and looking at people I knew and asking them, “What kind of person are you?” As I got older, I started to notice other people and their unique characteristics and thought, “What does it mean to be like this?” After I started to read more about personality types, I realized that I have a lot of the same personality traits as my characters. When I write, I’m always thinking about how they would react in certain situations.
