    Amos was born in the early 1950s in Detroit, Michigan. He had a hard life growing up. His father was a violent drunk and his mother had mental problems. Amos said he doesn’t remember much about his childhood.

    He was abandoned as a child and spent much of his life in orphanages. He didn’t know his father, and his mother committed suicide. Things got even worse when Amos was 13 years old. His life was changed forever when he was abducted by a group of men who operated a traveling carnival.

    The leader of the carnival took Amos to their camp in the woods. The men beat him and tortured him with electric shocks, but Amos held out until they were ready to kill him. He escaped and ran away from the carnival. He eventually made it back to his home town, where he lived homeless.

    Amos said he didn’t have a lot of friends because he was a loner who didn’t trust others.
