Vasquez personality type is ESTP, according to the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). I would say that's not too far off, and in fact, my editorial process is almost identical to her writing process (the difference being as I'm much more concerned about the image of the characters I write as opposed to the image of the characters in my head).
Vasquez's personality has been a matter of debate over the years. She's always been a somewhat polarizing figure, but I've never heard anyone complain that she wasn't authentic. Personally, I think the criticism of her comes down to a misunderstanding of what it means to be an ESTP.
In short, we're not totally extroverted. That's not to say we're not outgoing and happy-go-lucky. We're extroverted and outgoing, but we're also very focused on our own goals and ambitions. That's not to say we're not interested in others. We are. It just means we don't necessarily want to be the center of attention all the time.
