Randy personality type is ISTJ, with some SP-ness thrown in. They are dependable, diligent, and reliable. When I was first dating him, he would be the first one to show up to anything--the first one to help out, or to make sure I got there on time, or to make sure the trees (or whatever it was) were trimmed. He was the one who kept the lights on, the water running, the car running, the alarm button on. He's also an extremely pragmatic person who's more than willing to do whatever is necessary to achieve a goal. He is the first one to call the plumber about a leaky pipe, or the electrician about a blown fuse. He's also the first one to want to do some kind of repair, no matter how minor.
But I've seen this trait become very negative at times. He can be so focused on one goal that he misses some of the other more important ones. He can be so intent on accomplishing some task that he forgets to play with his kids or stop at a restaurant for a bite to eat. And he can be so driven that he doesn't express his own needs and wants.
