Shel is an artificial soldier designed to be the ultimate weapon for the US government, created by Dr. Jones of the US Army. He is designed to be a perfect killing machine capable of carrying out any mission requested of him, with no remorse for his actions against the wishes of his superiors. He is designed to be his own master, obeying his own will only, and is able to switch off his empathy circuits anytime he wants.
Shel's personality is so programmed that he has no memory of being built. His personality is also so programmed that he cannot have emotions. He has three special abilities, known as "trials", which are performed automatically when the appropriate conditions are met. He can perform these trials at any time once they have been unlocked, but must wait until the trial is complete to do so.
He can perform any trial ten times in a row, after which he must wait until the trial is complete before he can do it again. However, if he performs a melee attack while doing a trial, he will continue while doing that trial indefinitely.
