Anwar Maqsood Early life
Anwar Maqsood was born on 17 May 1976 in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. He is the son of Mirza Aslam Beg, a government official, and Shahida Anwar Maqsood.
Maqsood attended Illahi School, Rawalpindi until grade 5, when his family moved to Karachi. He studied at the Aitchison College, where he was consistently ranked among the top of his class.
After completing his high school education, Anwar Maqsood enrolled at the Government College University, Lahore where he studied Economics along with Political Science. He graduated with honors in 1999.

At the age of 19, Anwar Maqsood started his career as a journalist in the Daily Times. He worked there for six months and then joined Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) where he worked for five years.
