Blake Crouch personality type is INFP, so I was hoping it wouldn't be so hard to get him to be likeable. I didn't want him to be a pompous jerk who is secretly a good person, but just not able to show that side of him to the world.
I've observed some INFPs who are like that, but I've also had INFPs who are actually nice people. I was hoping for the former, and that's why I wanted to make him likeable.
I'm also very disappointed in the second book. It wasn't bad, but it's not as good as the first one. I'm still very excited for the third one though, and if it's as good as the first two ones, then I'll probably love it.
