Chuck Tingle personality type is ENTP, or "socially awkward" in the Myers-Briggs system. I'm more of a pragmatist than an idealist. I don't subscribe to the idea that you can be "good" in a vacuum, and that you should strive to be a "good" person. I think we are all good, relative to ourselves and the world around us, and that it's important to take an active role in shaping the world we want to live in.
I disagree with the "good person" cliché. I think it's very unhelpful. By the time we're adults, we know what the world is like. We can figure out what role we want to play in it, and we can make a difference, one way or another.
(I also disagree with the idea that you have to be "nice" to be a good person. I've known several really nasty people who are good people. I love you, Mean Girls.)
As an ENTP, I like to take an active role in shaping the world around me, and I like to use that power to make things better.
