George R. R. Martin personality type is INFP, and he’s a fun and adventurous story teller. If you’re not familiar with MBTI and its various letter combinations and functions (which are discussed in detail below), you can still enjoy the main character in the series, just skip the sections that explain this system.
As far as I’m concerned, the best part of the books are the characters. The stories are sometimes painfully slow, especially in the first book, but Martin is an expert at creating characters who are so vivid they become real to me in a way few other writers can manage. The fact that he also has a unique writing style doesn’t hurt in the least. Martin’s in-depth description of people, places, and things makes for engaging, immersive reading. If you’re looking for a place to start with an interesting series, I recommend starting with A Game of Thrones.
