A better understanding of ISTP’s type is that they are action-oriented, but they are not necessarily always ‘out there’ for the reason that most people would expect.
“The second reason for the misunderstanding is that they are so obviously ‘out there’. This is partly due to the fact that they act more on the surface than many other types, but it’s not because of any lack of inner reality or depth of character. As I’ve already mentioned above, they are action-oriented, but they also have a very strong sense of their own values/wants/needs.
