Harry Potter personality type is ESTP, but there is a real danger in making such a generalization. It is true that Harry is an enjoyer and a doer, but so are many other people.
Harry Potter is also an ISTJ, but that is just because Harry's parents are ISTJ's. Harry does not follow through on his plans and he would be better off if he did. Harry gets sucked into doing things that he really doesn't want to do and ends up in trouble because of it.
The J/P dichotomy characterizes Harry Potter as a J, but I think that is a mistake. J's are planners and doers, but the other J traits are not very present in Harry Potter. His ideas are not very well thought out and his plans do not work out very well. The whole series of books is a series of mistakes. He just repeats them over and over again.
