Sideswipe personality type is ESTP, but I'm not sure. He uses a lot of humor, but then again he can be serious and real, too. His "idea" is that he is completely free, not tied down to a concept or a group of rules. He lives in the moment, only looking ahead a little bit. He likes to have fun and enjoy life, but he's also very smart and understands that he has to take his duties seriously. He doesn't like to be told what to do, but does like to be respected. He enjoys being a team player, but can sometimes be selfish.
He is also very aware of his appearance, so he tries to always look his best. He is slightly vain, but not usually self-conscious about it. He has gotten better with his thumbsucking (thank the gods), but he still does it on occasion.
I think he would be best for a female who could help him with the thumbsucking and help him to keep up with his appearance. He's not very good at explaining himself or being understood.
I also think he'd be fine with a male.
