She was not allowed to play outside or go to school, and she didn't have a lot of friends. Her father wanted her to be a lawyer. When she grew up, she decided to become a teacher. Her mother also wanted her to be a teacher, because she had a lot of respect for teachers. From the time she was little, Juleka never thought of being anything else but a teacher. She was very interested in science and art from the time she was little, and she studied all the things she liked. Her art teacher noticed her talents and invited her to take part of a competition at the age of 14. She won the competition at the age of 15, and this challenge helped her to define her personality. This is one of the reasons why she decided to become an art teacher, at the age of 17. Her mother didn't understand her decision, but her father liked it.
