Bravely Default personality type is INFP, and the Bravely Second and Bravely Third games follow the same system. It's a gameplay mechanic we see often; we see it in the Persona series, we see it in the Final Fantasy series, we see it in Fire Emblem Awakening, and we see it in countless other JRPGs. It's a pretty simple system that manages to overhaul the traditional JRPG genre, by allowing players to choose between three distinct personalities to create a character with a unique persona and combat style.
It's also an interesting system that keeps the player invested in the story and keeps them meaningfully connected to the world and characters.
Persona 5 doesn't exactly follow this system, and instead opts for a heavily story-driven experience. But we see Persona series protagonist and main character Shinjiro Aragaki is defined by his Persona, and as such we see his actions and actions that result from those actions as they unfold across the story.
Is this a bad thing? Does it detract from the core experience of the story? I think not. It's just another way for Atlus to keep us invested in the narrative. It's also an interesting way to convey how Shinjiro's type has shaped his personality.
Bravely Default, known in Japan as Bravely Default: Flying Fairy, is a role-playing video game developed by Silicon Studio for the Nintendo 3DS handheld console. Bravely Default was originally released in 2012, while an expanded edition subtitled For the Sequel was released in 2013 in Japan, Europe and Australia, and in 2014 in North America. This expanded edition used the subtitle Where The Fairy Flies in territories outside of Japan. Square Enix published the game in Japan, while Nintendo handled publishing duties overseas. The gameplay uses a turn-based battle system and job system, in addition to incorporating options to combine job abilities and adjust battle speed and random encounter rates. Bravely Default is set in the world of Luxendarc, which is kept in balance by four elemental crystals protected by the Crystal Orthodoxy, a religious group with influence across the world.
