In the story, Fausto is a young engineering student at a private university. When his father dies, he inherits a nice sum of money from the will. As a result, he is able to get a job at a large corporation. The manager of the company is German and immediately makes Fausto his secretary (he doesn't speak English). The manager is very domineering and expects Fausto to follow his orders without question. The manager lies to Fausto and tells him that the boss wants him to give up his job and go to work for the company in Germany. Fausto is reluctant to do this, but does it because he wants to help his dad's friend. He even lies to his family and says that he has gone to Germany to study at that company when in fact he has gone there only to collect his inheritance.
Ultimately, Fausto realizes that the boss and the German manager are not the problem and he is not the problem either. He realizes that he was just a tool in their hands and they were using him for their own personal gain. And so he decides to quit the job and return to Brazil.
Fausto Corrêa da Silva (born May 3, 1950) also known as Faustão, is a Brazilian television presenter. He is most known for being the host of Sunday show Domingão do Faustão. It premiered in 1989.
