Philip Freriks (born 27 July 1944) is a Dutch journalist, columnist and television presenter. He is known for presenting the NOS Journaal from 1996 till 2009. He also presented the Groot Dictee der Nederlandse Taal from 1990 till 2016 and in 2018. He is also known as presenter of the television quiz show De Slimste Mens. He was also the narrator in the 2012 edition of The Passion. Freriks, together with Leoni Jansen, presented the weekly media section Lopend Vuur for NOS television in the 1989-1990 season, the following season only. From 1991 he made the book program Passages (NPS) and the history program De tijd staat even stil (NCRV) for three seasons with Henk Pröpper. He also presented De avond van de korte film and De avond van het boek several times, the latter in connection with the presentation of the Libris Literature Prize, together with Petra Possel and others. On his initiative, the NOS started in December 1990 the National Dictation of the Dutch Language.
