Dastan personality type is ENTP, and I like to think that I'm an INTP. (You can tell because I like to think.)
My ENTP personality type is also strongly connected to my gender. I was born a boy, and I identify as a boy to this day. I was never assigned female at birth, and I never had to make the choice to be a boy or a girl (I don't think).
So, when I read stories about transgender people, it's much more than just a story about someone's identity. It's about the person's body, and what that means in relation to their identity. It's about who they are in relation to their identity.
Why the distinction?
I think that when we talk about gender, we need to be clear about what we're talking about. We need to be clear about what we're talking about in relation to the body and what we're talking about in terms of identity.
This is important because we need to be clear about what we mean when we talk about gender and sex. This is not just a simple issue of biology. Some people think that anyone who makes the choice between being male or female is somehow weak.
Dastan is an ornate form of oral history from Central Asia, Iran, Turkey and Azerbaijan. A dastan is generally centered on one individual who protects his tribe or his people from an outside invader or enemy, although only occasionally can this figure be traced back to a historical person. This main character sets an example of how one should act, and the dastan becomes a teaching tool — for example the Sufi master and Turkic poet Ahmed Yesevi said "Let the scholars hear my wisdom, treating my words like a dastan". Alongside the wisdom, each dastan is rich with cultural history of interest to scholars. During the Russian conquest of Central Asia, many new dastans were created to protest the Russian occupation. It is possible that they came into contact and influenced each other.
