Beary personality type is INFP, so I’m not particularly interested in the “He’s a really nice guy” aspect of this story. So let’s move on to the good stuff.
Once Danny gets his one-on-one interview with the King, things start to go downhill. The King wants Danny to go into the jungle, where he is to stay for the next seven days. He is to be fed only raw food, and there are no bathrooms or showers. The King has already warned Danny that he will be left alone in the jungle, and that no one will ever come to save him. He will die alone, starving and scared. But he is to be left alone for seven days.
The King tells Danny that an animal will come for him at night, and that he can either let it take him or kill it. And if he kills the animal, the King will kill him. If he doesn’t kill the animal, he will be killed.
Now, if you’ve ever seen an episode of Survivor or read a Stephen King novel, you know that this is totally possible.
