Xenophilius Lovegood personality type is ENFP, which is pretty accurate, I think. He's so optimistic, so open minded, so imaginative, so curious about the world around him, so happy to try anything once...I would describe him as a crazy, over-the-top, silly, loveable, open-minded hippie. I just love how he always seems to have that boyish wonder about him, every time he opens his mouth, even after all these years.
I just think it's so cool that JKR wrote him as a young, bright, energetic, imaginative character who was still basically a child. He's not really old enough to be a prefect yet, but he's still an adult. He's not acting like an adult yet, but he's not a child either. He's somewhere in the middle.
He sounds like an ENFP to me.

I also think that his hippie-ness made him more tolerant of other people's eccentricities.
