The negative view of ENFPs is true. They are not the best for building large teams, because they are so individualistic. I can't tell you how many times I've heard people say "I'm the only one who really knows what I'm doing here!"
This is so true. I have a friend who is an ENFP and he has a ton of natural leaders in his life. But he has a hard time getting them all to work together. He's always had a hard time with teamwork stuff.
I guess some people just need a lot of outside motivation to get them going.
It's been a few years since I read her book, but I just remembered one thing that really stuck out to me: she says that ENFPs are "marked by a distinct lack of seriousness". I always thought that was just ENFPs being themselves - that they're lighthearted and fun-loving and carefree. But it sounds like it's a real trait.
I guess this is true for some people, but the ENFP I know isn't like that at all.
