Mrs. Everdeen was saddened when she found out that Katniss volunteered to be in the Games after Prim died. She was extremely worried about her daughter but knew that Katniss' love for the rebellion was greater than her love for her mother.
Mrs. Everdeen was also very protective of Katniss, especially after the bombing of District 12.
